A journey along ancient routes of Friuli Venezia Giulia

The project "The Way of the Abbey" wanted by the municipalities of Moggio Udinese, Sesto al Reghena and Manzano, offers a path that connects the three Benedictine Abbeys located in these municipalities in the Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The project goal is to create a spiritual journey, social and cultural discovery of a fascinating and still largely unknown territory to an encounter of people who are looking for moments of reflection and a recovery of the inward and essential.
Abbeys "small town spirit", have for centuries been the tangible evidence of a culture that became a spokesman of union among the peoples strongly influence the lives of the various countries where they were located: they have been the cornerstones of history, SPCs human and social order. The life that took place within the abbeys had considerable influence also outside, in society of the time, both as a business model, both as social and cultural model.
After the fall of the empire, were born many Benedictine abbeys who saved Europe from barbarism. The Europe of the city was born precisely in the centers abbey, in typical school-yards, even more of the philosophical and scientific or religious, they represent the vanguard of a new development. In today's society, in a Europe that is looking for a unification of not only economic but also social, cultural, Abbeys and Monasteries can again be a coherent and unifying voice. Moggio Udinese, Sesto al Reghena and Manzano with this route want to create a first segment of the route that will cross the borders of the region and reach the Abbey of other European countries.
